How to positively communicate and collaborate with SLT in a supportive way with contentious issues.

I’m thinking of how challenging it is to be a (new) union rep, who is liaising between physically distanced staff and trying to bring together agreement between staff, unions and SLT and being expected to address quite delicate issues – how can we encourage collaboration, rather than an ‘us and them’ feeling within the workplace, when staff ultimately support the SLT and respect their leadership but also have imporatnt issues raised by their unions?
